Male Genital Warts Can Be Treated

Genital warts are the most common STD. They are so easy to pass because you don't always know that you have them if you haven't had an outbreak. Using protection during intimate moments doesn't work, because the affected areas aren't always covered. Since there are so many asymptomatic cases, many people have them for years before they know that they have HPV. Like all genital warts, male genital warts appear on any part of the genitals or surrounding area.

When you are treating male genital warts, there are several routes that you can go. You can use prescription treatments, homeopathic treatments, and over-the-counter treatments. Prescription treatments include pills and ointments. There are also removal therapies that you can do. Cryotherapy freezes the warts off with liquid nitrogen. This is the most commonly preferred method of removing any warts. You can also use a trichloracetic acid chemical compound to burn them off. There is also an electrocautery treatment that uses an electric charge to remove warts. For the most stubborn of cases, warts are removed by a laser. The pills and ointments do not remove the warts, they just control the outbreaks.

There are also OTC treatments that you can use to treat male genital warts. Most of them will remove the warts. But, you want to make sure that those treatments are specifically made of genital warts. Other wart treatments should never be used to treat genital warts, because of their formulations.

If you go online and search for treatments for male genital warts, you can find homeopathic and holistic treatments. You can also find them at health food stores. One holistic treatment is immune response boosters. These treatments use natural acids to boost your body's natural immune response to fight the warts instead of chemicals. Nothing cures genital warts. You can get them removed and treat them to successfully control outbreaks, but you will still have the HPV which caused the warts in the first place. You can still pass the virus on even if you don't have an outbreak, so you should inform any partner you have. If you think that you have genital warts, you should see a doctor.
